ClientOur client is a not-for-profit industry organisation that provides support, information and services for its members as well as advocating to government on behalf of the industry and associated stakeholders. The organisation has a clear purpose of facilitating member's success by identifying and delivering member's needs through a range of services.RoleDue to a retirement, the organisation is now searching for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The position is accountable to the industry through a governing Board that consists of elected representatives from member companies. Prior experience in the horticulture/nursery/garden industry would be an advantage but candidates who meet the requirements without this experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Key responsibilities include:Provide leadership to the organisation, encompassing operations, budgeting and fiscal management;Develop and then implement the strategic plan in conjunction with the Board;Identify and develop a hierarchy of member's needs and deliver services applicable to those requirements;Maximise member engagement by adding value to their business;Increase membership by improved service and delivery of the value proposition;Provide training to members and their staff to improve their skills and capability;Advocacy, development of policy and engagement with government.RequirementsDemonstrated leadership, strategic mindset and financial management skills;Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels;Ability to conceptualise, articulate and sell ideas;Demonstrated capability in managing and delivering change;Ability to retain a clarity of focus in an environment of conflicting needs, priorities and commercial pressures;Prior experience in advocacy and/or dealing with government would be a distinct advantage.Location and RemunerationThe role is located at the Head Office in Kenthurst, NSW.
