Kestrel is one of the world's largest producing underground steel making coal mines producing around 7 million tonnes annually.
Kestrel's coal is a well-established premium brand shipped to key markets in Asia and Europe.
The mine is located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 40km Northeast of Emerald in Central QLD.
The Kestrel team's capability covers the entire mining process, from development to extraction and processing, environmental management, and sustainable rehabilitation.
Kestrel has an approved life of mine until 2033 and reserves to 2046 with the potential to increase further.
About the opportunity:

The mine is well capitalised with a new longwall and significant, high-quality surface infrastructure.
There is potential to expand the current operation pending regulatory approvals.

Current executives who are operating at CEO, COO or EGM levelHighly capable General Managers who can demonstrate they are capable of successfully running a business at CEO level.Candidates who may have worked in other commodities for a number of years who may be interested in returning to coal.Overseas-based candidates who have the required experienceA strong preference for candidates with a detailed understanding of the operational and technical aspects of coal mining, ideally with underground longwall experience.
Further experience / attributes we are looking for includes: Diverse background of experience across small to large-size organisations having held roles with significant autonomyAbility to display and deliver organisational maturity whilst focused on continuous improvement and long-term value creation.Collaborative and engaging leader capable of developing strong relationships.Effective industry advocacy and experience in dealing with key stakeholders.An executive level salary package including STIP and LTIP will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
