Chief Engineer - Melbourne - The Ritz-CarltonThe Ritz-Carlton Melbourne - 1 week agoDescriptionThe Chief Engineer at The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne will oversee all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and asset protection.This role leads the maintenance of the building, grounds, and physical plant while managing the department's budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance programs, and energy conservation initiatives.The Chief Engineer ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and leads the emergency response team for any facility-related issues, ensuring exceptional service and a luxurious guest experience.Key Responsibilities:Manage property operations and engineering budgets, overseeing all aspects of the physical plant, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, water treatment, electrical systems, and life safety equipment.Lead and ensure the effective operation of all engineering systems, guaranteeing that all equipment operates at peak efficiency, safety, and effectiveness.Manage the engineering department's budget, including capital expenditures, operational costs, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation projects.Conduct regular evaluations of the facility's condition and make recommendations for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to maintain the property's luxurious standards.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED; at least 4 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, or a related professional area, with technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, and plumbing systems.ORA 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or a related major; at least 2 years of relevant experience in engineering or maintenance, with technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, and plumbing systems.
