You will be responsible for driving the technology strategy and development of technology frameworks enabling C&TB Digital, Product, Core and Payments & Fraud Outcomes. Helping support C&TB business objectives efficiently and effectively. Ensuring our Engineering Delivery Teams are at the forefront of industry evolution in software engineering and solution design.As a Chief Engineer (Cash & Transactional Banking)You will also be responsible for:Developing and implementing engineering & DevOps strategies and technical standards that align with Westpac & Cash & Transactional Banking goals.Setting & implementing the Quality Engineering strategy for the C&TB application portfolio.Staying updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure continuous innovation and improvement.Collaborating with enterprise architecture & senior technical leadership to define technical roadmaps and contribute to long-term strategic planning.Mentoring solution design & engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional development.Participating in performance reviews, setting objectives, and providing coaching to ensure engineers & solution designers are meeting or exceeding expectations.Ensuring that the solution design & engineering team has the necessary tools, skills, and resources to achieve optimal performance.Overseeing all phases of engineering projects, from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project requirements.Monitoring project progress, managing risks, and ensuring the resolution of technical issues.Overseeing procurement and maintenance of engineering tools, equipment, and technology.Ensuring the solution design & engineering team adheres to technical standards, safety regulations, and quality control measures.Conducting technical reviews of designs, plans, and projects to ensure they meet organizational and regulatory standards.Providing final approval on technical designs, specifications, and modifications.Promoting innovation and the adoption of new technologies.Acting as the key technical liaison between HO Engineering, other Chief engineers, enterprise architecture, TDOs and other teams.What's in it for me?You'll play a significant part of the future of a business that has been around for over 200 years.
