Join our team as a Chief Engineer at Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns, a luxury five-star hotel in the heart of Cairns.Global brand with opportunity for growth and progressionCompetitive salary and incentive schemeAccommodation benefits, F&B discounts, staff meals, laundered uniform and moreAs Chief Engineer, you will plan, direct, control and coordinate the activities in the department, including the operation and maintenance of all electrical and mechanical equipment, repairs and preventative maintenance, and energy cost reduction.Develop and implement preventive maintenance and repair systems for hotel equipment, ensure emergency procedures are in place, and conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and equipment.Coordinate with external contractors for installations and repairs, work closely with departments on new projects, equipment, and building alterations, and prepare periodic reports on operational costs and maintenance issues.Manage staff training, maintain performance records, oversee inventory control, and ensure completion of projects on time through effective coordination of engineering personnel.Note: Only candidates with the right to work permanently in Australia will be considered for this position.
