Permanent role Gold Coast location How will I help? As Westpac's Chief Engineer (Chief Operating Office (COO) Technology), you will be responsible for driving the technology strategy and development of technology solutions to support the risk, regulatory and remediation programs.
Working across multiple Lines of Business, you will lead a talented team of Engineers and Solution Designers to efficiently and effectively deliver on Consumer divisional risk and regulatory priorities, including building a strong engineering delivery team that is at the forefront of industry evolution in RegTech.
This role is preferably based in Gold Coast but is open to interstate candidates as well. You will also be responsible for:
Set up and lead the COO Tech engineering capability Drive strong engineering and solution design practices leveraging the best of Consumer and Westpac capabilities Drive technology choices in collaboration with divisional and enterprise Architecture, the Consumer Technology and the Lines of Businesses (LOBs) Maintain close collaboration with Technology Domain Owners teams to ensure common components delivered by the COO Tech can be scaled and reused in an efficient manner Providing clear direction and advice on divisional solution design and best practices, standards and guidelines to enable build of solutions across the COO Portfolio Assessing and understanding the evolving risk and regulatory requirements of Consumer division to ensure solutions and outcomes are optimal – be an advocate for COO Tech teams across Consumer and broader enterprise What's in it for me? What do I need? You will be a self-starter, able to work self-sufficiently Strong engineering leadership experience in leveraging agile and DevOps principles, preferably in a finance or risk and regulatory domain Advanced knowledge of presentation, integration and enabling technologies in the risk and regulatory space, across a range of patterns, libraries, languages and technologies Track record of engaging, managing and influencing diverse stakeholders and priorities Ability to pragmatically balance timeline pressures with strategic and architectural objectives Proven communication and presentation skills in a technology domain delivered to an executive level audience Ability to play a mentoring role for the wider team Power to exercise governance and best practices Desire to be constantly challenged and develop new knowledge What's it like to work there?
