We offer a wide range of domestic and international destinations.The roleThe role of the Chief Engineer is a key on-board management position that works closely with the Master to ensure the safety of the vessel, the passengers and the crew on board.Duties include but are not limited to:Continued ongoing development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program;Engine maintenance and the cleanliness and general condition of the engine room;Maintenance of the pumps, hydraulic equipment, electrical equipment, lighting and bridge equipment;Bunkering of fuel and oil as required;Comply with oil pollution regulations and maintain the oil record book;Comply with all regulations, ISM, codes of conduct and standards;Maintain and upkeep ship manuals as required by AMSA;Stand watch unless emergency mechanical and electrical matters need attention;Presentations and Engine room tours for guests;Dining with guests on occasion.What you will bring to us:Proven experience in a similar role;Strong interpersonal and communication skills;Strong leadership and management skills with a desire to coach and develop others;Ability to work well in a team environment;Demonstrated safe working practices mindset;Sound engineering systems and operational knowledge and the ability to problem solve.What we can offer you:Shipboard rosters are generally up to six weeks for domestic and up to eight weeks for international, which may vary in length due to itineraries;Accommodation and meals provided on board;Career growth in a progressive and expanding Australian company;A supportive and collaborative team environment.Qualifications Required:Engineer Class 1 or 2 AMSA Endorsed;Crowd Control & Crisis Management;AMSA International Medical;First Aid & CPR;Passport;ASSB or other country equivalent discharge book.As we screen all applicants and select candidates whose qualifications and experience meet our needs, we will carefully consider your application during the initial screening and will contact you if you are selected to continue in the recruitment process.
