The Chief Engineer at Novotel Surfers Paradise will be responsible for overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and asset protection across the property.This role will lead the maintenance of the building, grounds, and physical plant while managing the department's budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance programs, and energy conservation initiatives.The Chief Engineer will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and lead the emergency response team for any facility-related issues, ensuring exceptional service and an exceptional guest experience.Key Responsibilities:Oversee all aspects of the physical plant, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, water treatment, electrical systems, and life safety equipment.Lead and ensure the effective operation of all engineering systems, guaranteeing peak efficiency, safety, and effectiveness.Manage the engineering department's budget, including capital expenditures, operational costs, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation projects.Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for the property.Record meter readings and liaise with the General Manager regarding options to improve energy management and conservation.Be responsible for the testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting, and routine maintenance.Carry out emergency maintenance work outside of normal working hours as required.Maintain records of repair work and daily checks as required by local Council and Government specifications.Liaise closely with Front Desk and Housekeeping regarding out of service rooms to expedite a quick turnaround.Ensure the external areas of the hotel are maintained in line with Company brand standards.Prepare monthly Maintenance reports, commenting on key performance indicators.Adhere to Emergency Communication procedures ensuring media inquiries are responded to appropriately.Strive to implement the Accor Vision and demonstrate active use of Accor Values.Monitor, identify, and eliminate workplace hazards and risks as per InterREACT guidelines.Attend scheduled meetings as a member of the Emergency Planning Committee (EPC).What We Offer:Ongoing career and professional development opportunitiesA rewarding work environmentGlobal discounts on hotel accommodation & Food and BeverageSalary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum
