The Deputy Director Engineering and Major Projects holds a critical leadership role in this diverse local council, reporting to the Executive Director City Futures.
This position is responsible for supervising infrastructure, transport, civil development engineering, and significant capital projects across the municipality.
This role is pivotal in shaping the Council's growth by leading a strategic team focused on project management and engineering, ensuring compliance with statutory engineering requirements, and maintaining excellence in project management.
In this key leadership role, you will contribute to many groundbreaking projects, including the rejuvenation of the Dandenong Markets and the upgrade of the Dandenong Oasis.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, Greater Dandenong City Council is seeking applications from senior leaders who are politically astute and demonstrate contemporary and strategic leadership, a customer-first attitude, and strong cultural values.
You will bring proven experience leading transformation projects, uplifting technical capability, and embedding sector-leading practices.
You have a proven track record leading and empowering multi-disciplinary staff, fostering a positive and motivated workplace culture, and building high-performing teams.
You will be a registered professional engineer and have a demonstrated ability to lead Project Management and embed best practice procurement processes.
