Chief Allied Health Officer, Clinical and Professional Leadership UnitSafer Care Victoria was established in January 2017 to ensure our health services are providing safe, high-quality care to patients: every time, everywhere. As well as monitoring the standards of care provided, Safer Care Victoria is partnering with patients, clinicians and health service managers to support the continuous improvement of health care.How you'll make a difference:The Chief Allied Health Officer (CAHO) is responsible for providing strategic, system specific and specialised clinical leadership and advice to Safer Care Victoria (SCV), the Minister for Health, the Department of Health, and the broader health service and hospitals sectors on issues related to allied health and on broader health system matters.The CAHO is the principal adviser on all matters relating to allied health and for the provision of professional leadership and direction on this topic for Victoria. The role requires leadership and senior clinical experience in any branch of allied health, preferably with experience in implementation of quality and safety improvement initiatives.The CAHO will oversee the development of policies and initiatives to support the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality person-centred care. Engagement with senior stakeholders and leaders across government and the broader health sector will be required. The role provides a link between SCV, the Department of Health and the broader health service community to promote and support safe and high-quality allied health care in Victoria.The CAHO is also a key member of the SCV Senior Leadership Team and will work together with colleagues, as one team, to deliver the strategy of the organisation. It is not about your team and its deliverables.
