About the Role We are seeking an experienced Chemist for a full-time position at our North Shore Mineral Processing Plant located on the beautiful Koombana Beach in the heart of Bunbury!
Enjoy the gorgeous beach location even more as we work a compressed 38-hour week, 9-day fortnight, enjoy every second Friday off!!
Reporting to the Quality Laboratory Lead the Chemist will be accountable for: Developing and maintaining XRF calibrations suitable for laboratory requirements Monitoring quality control within the laboratory Participating in projects to implement new instrumentation and methodologies to the analytical laboratory Ensuring analytical method validation and measurement uncertainty are applied to all laboratory test methodologies Demonstrating a proactive approach to teamwork, continuous improvement and cost-reduction Reporting on process deviations; assisting in plant investigations and problem resolution; advising on protocols for testing and making recommendations for test methodologies.
Ensuring optimal availability of equipment by adherence to maintenance/calibration schedules and timely modifications/repairs.
Participating in Global Quality Laboratory projects Maintaining laboratory reporting systems including SQL database, S4 Fiori and Excel worksheets Investigating complaints, queries or deviations from test methods and providing recommendations for preventative and corrective measures Maintaining the laboratory quality management system in accordance with ISO17025 requirements.
Performing audits on laboratory and company quality management systems Driving improvement in laboratory safety, including reduction in risk from manual handling duties Performing testing and reporting requirements for the laboratory as required About You To be successful in this role you will ideally need: Essential: Bachelor Degree in Science based discipline, chemistry preferred Experience working in a laboratory Highly motivated and promotes a safe and inclusive work environment Desirable: Detailed knowledge and understanding of XRF calibration High level of competency with Excel formulas and data connections Experience working in NATA accredited laboratory Trained and experienced in performing internal audits S4 Fiori knowledge What Next?
