Job DescriptionAbout the role This opportunity does not come often, but we now have an exciting role for our Sydney laboratory. We are accepting applications for the position of Inorganics Chemist in our modern NATA-accredited laboratory for an immediate start. This is a full-time role, where you are responsible for non-routine testing, training of staff, checking and improving results. This includes developing new methodologies and optimising processes for a high-performance culture.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lab Operations – Support Lab Manager, Lab Supervisor/Team Leader in the efficient day-to-day running of the lab and drive good lab practicesAnalysis – Conduct routine and non-routine and complex sample preparation, analysis and reporting and collate and review resultsQuality Control – Identify, investigate and resolve issues and complaints with effective solutionsClient Services – Approve results and finalise client reports in an accurate and timely mannerContinuous Improvement – Plan and perform method development and validation for new methods, as well as implement lab and sample efficienciesWHS – Demonstrate awareness for safety and environmental awareness, drive staff compliance with PPE and address hazards or safety issuesHousekeeping - ensure ongoing housekeeping to keep a clean workspaceDesired Skills and ExperienceAbout you The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent1-2 years minimum experience with inorganics testingPrevious experience in a NATA-accredited laboratoryExperience with analytical instruments ICP-OES, ICP-MS, CV-AASExperience with LIMSStrong analytical and chemistry knowledgeKnowledge of common analytical methods, laboratory QC practice and calculationsPrevious Facility Assigned Signatory statusDemonstrated leadership and communication skillsAs an employee of Envirolab Group, you will work in a highly supportive team environment with industry leaders.
