Selection will be made at either the SC or SSC level at the time of appointment.
Territory Pathology is comprised of six traditional hospital-based laboratory sites based in the far north of the tropical Northern Territory, Australia.
Of the 6 Laboratories, the Royal Darwin Hospital and Alice Springs Hospital laboratories provide 24-hour services, with other laboratories having on-call scientific staff and a hospital-based POCT service providing chemical pathology coverage after hours.
The clinical chemistry department provides a solid test profile, which can be expanded with the introduction of new instrumentation.
The main laboratory at RDH handles about 850 to 900 patient episodes per day using a Track with Ortho/Quidel instrumentation.
