Chemical Engineer

The purpose of the role is to undertake and supervise technical studies from scoping to feasibility level under the direction of senior management.
The role requires a developing understanding of seawater and high-sulfate brine chemistry and the mechanical processes/equipment required to recover final SOP product from such resources.
The role will require substantial interaction with Reward personnel and external consultants from multiple scientific disciplines as required to complete Feasibility Studies and subsequent process development.
These steps are typically Final Investment Decisions, Project Funding, and Plant/relocation and construction, which will provide ongoing career opportunities.
AccountabilitiesCompliance with health, safety, and environment policies.Compliance with statutory reporting.Familiarisation with technical aspects of the SOP industry.Assess the Company's technical database and Intellectual Property relating to production of SOP from available resources.Assessment of process flowsheets for SOP recovery from various brine resources, including designs of Evaporation Ponds, Syngenite Reactor, Leach operations, and SOP extraction plant operation.Planning, supervision, execution, and delivery of Feasibility Studies in conjunction with Executive Management.Development of comprehensive commercially relevant business cases evaluating investment opportunities in conjunction with Executive Management.Co-development of budgets and schedules for studies.Rare Earths experience.Ability to think, work, and act independently.Strong and effective communication and engagement skills.Be a team player with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary groups as required.Have a positive, flexible, and dynamic approach.Reporting to Executive Management.Qualifications and ExperienceRelevant degree or extensive demonstrated experience (Chemical/Metallurgy Engineering, Chemistry, or related).+7 years of experience in heavy industry or relevant alternative experience.Some exposure to operating facilities and mines or other major industrial undertakings, particularly in Australia.Experience with SOP will be highly regarded but not essential.Well-developed oral and written communication skills; able to communicate at all levels in the organisation.Advanced computer literacy, technical and business software skills (Word/Excel).Proficiency in English. #J-18808-Ljbffr
