About the Role We are currently seeking applications for a Permanent Chemical Attendant to join our team in Proserpine Mill located in Proserpine, Queensland in the Whitsunday Region. This is a Monday to Friday day work position which may require some overtime. Hours of work may differ depending on whether we are in maintenance or production. Duties will consist of: Chemical stocktaking Assisting the laboratory with general housekeeping duties, chemical decanting and waste removal Waste collection and sanitisation of industrial equipment Monitoring, troubleshooting and making adjustments to the chemical dosing systems, under the guidance of site operations team Providing assistance in the industrial cleaning of mills and/or evaporator/filter station operation on maintenance days General housekeeping of the water treatment areas checking on and take corrective action to maintain all chemical dosing systems used in our sugar processing, in consultation with the site operations team Making and transporting slurry for operations Conduct site internal audits according to our EHS compliance regarding chemical handling and environment Desirable Requirements We are a training organisation and are prepared to provide training to people who may have some of the requirements and who possess the right aptitude and fit, however the below are highly desirable. Forklift (HRWL) Confined Space Working at Heights Previous chemical handling experience You will need to possess excellent communication skills and a high ability to work in a small team environment to achieve defined deadlines.
