Lone Star Rib House is a high-volume Texan-themed food and beverage restaurant, and we are currently seeking a full-time, experienced Chef to join our team. This position offers room for future growth.

The Role: Produce quality, hot meals plated as per recipes and procedures manual (note: as a franchise, the menu/recipes cannot be altered). Lead the kitchen staff by example, under the direction of the Head Chef. Maintain prep levels in your allocated section. Assist with ordering & stock rotation. Maintain cleanliness & organization of your workspace. Help ensure hygiene standards are maintained at a sufficiently high level and that an approved food safety plan is implemented. Monitor and maintain all kitchen equipment in proper operating order. Inform the Head Chef/General Manager of any potential issues regarding prep, ordering, stock control, food safety, and quality. Follow correct hygiene, food handling practices, and safety procedures. Guide and train new and existing kitchen staff in food safety and health practices. Assist in managing kitchen operations, including food costs, stock control, and kitchen labour costs. Minimize food wastage and control stock levels. Be flexible and available to work lunch, dinner, and weekends as required. You are: A reliable and organized sous chef who wants to contribute to the team by leading by example. Able to work energetically alongside the kitchen team, with experience in kitchen operations, meal presentation, and quality standards. Passionate about helping develop kitchen staff, exceeding customer expectations, and contributing to overall success. A team player, happy to assist wherever needed. What you will bring to the role: Strong communication and organizational skills. Strong work ethic and a positive 'can do' attitude. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills. Experience assisting in managing the daily operations of the kitchen (stocktakes, ordering, managing staff, and preparation). Proven experience working in a collaborative environment, assisting in staff recruitment, training, and development. A confident approach with effective communication at all levels of the business. Strong dedication to OH&S and HACCP. Minimum 2 years in a similar role – trade certificates or qualifications are highly regarded, along with Char Grill experience.
