The Role We are currently seeking various levels of chefs in a range of locations to work at our remote lodges located in some of the most remote locations in Australia. Our Chefs assist in the creation of amazing experiences by delivering exceptional meals to our guests and staff members. If you are excited about food and providing exceptional service and thrive on a challenge then this is the position for you.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist in the daily running of all the kitchen requirements Meet and where possible exceed guest expectations Ensure food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques meet Food Safety guidelines and are maintained at that level Work with the kitchen team and take corrective action where appropriate and within company guidelines if standards are not met Ensure the highest possible standard of hygiene is practiced and maintained by all staff members to meet Health & Safety regulations and relative legislation Cultivate a positive work environment where learning and personal development are benchmarks by which quality improvement is driven Requirements About You Can get yourself to Darwin ASAP (we will get you onsite from there) Minimum 3-5 years for leadership positions Minimum 2-4 years other positions Advanced culinary knowledge and extensive cooking experience Demonstrate excellent and respectful communication skills Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure Able to cater for dietaries without compromising on taste Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes Must hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate Benefits An attractive salary Onsite accommodation and meals A rare opportunity to live in one of the most spectacular settings The opportunity to gain a true appreciation of some culturally significant wilderness The amazing opportunity to work in a dynamic, growing tourism business Generous discounts on Journey Beyond travel and experiences Up to 40% discount on Journey Beyond merchandise Study Assistance to prepare you for expanded career growth opportunities Access to leading Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providers
