CHEF MANAGER Permanent Full-time position based in Wagga WaggaGreat hours - Monday to Friday 6am to 2pmExcellent job security with an industry leading NFPAbout Baptistcare Caloola Centre Nestled in the peaceful and scenic bushland of Wagga Wagga, Caloola Centre provides quality, specialist support to a well-loved community on beautifully landscaped gardens nearby to the shops, clubs, and church.
The 70-room facility provides quality, palliative care as well as security for those living with dementia, including our newly built sensory garden, delivering a safe and stimulating outdoor space for clients.
About the role Reporting to the Residential Manager, you will lead and manage staff and resources efficiently to deliver the highest quality and safety in food services.
Mealtimes are very important to residents, often a time they look forward to, so continuous improvement in the meals we offer is vital.
You will need to speak directly to our residents, gaining their feedback and making adjustments.
Your creativity with food and expertise in dining environments make this a unique opportunity to enrich the lives of our 90 residents.
Duties include but are not limited to: Overseeing commercial cooking operations & staff supervisionRostering, ordering, invoicing & auditingStock control, preparing menus, adhering to the budgetEnsuring high quality presentation of all meals to residentsMid-High quantity cooking (90 clients) as required for leave coverAbout you The ideal candidate will have:
At least 5 years' Chef experience post completion of apprenticeship in a large catering or multi-outlet environmentA Qualification in Commercial Cookery, Certificate III of Proficiency, or other recognised certification such as armed forces qualifications.Demonstrated application of knowledge of HACCP, FSANZ and NSW Food Authority standards and principles.Sound competence and experience in the management of high quality food services, e.g.
