We provide fine Japanese cuisines and high-quality beverages. The company is seeking a chef to lead our kitchen.
Position: Chef
Work Hours: Full-Time, 38 hours per week
Work Type: 3 years
Workplace: Shop 179, Ground Floor, 154-164 Horton Parade, Maroochydore, QLD 4558
Salary: $74,000 plus superannuation per year
You will perform the following tasks for the role:
Lead and manage kitchen Develop and plan menus Supervise the activities of the kitchen Discuss food preparation issues with the restaurant manager Check food to ensure its quality Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment Prepare food for cooking Cook food by a range of methods (e.g., baking, braising, frying, roasting, or steaming) Divide food into portions and ensure that the food is well presented Clean food preparation areas and equipment Store food in temperature-controlled facilities Receive and store supplies Ensure kitchen is hygienic and functional Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements Give directions to other kitchen staff Train and supervise other kitchen staff To be successful, you must satisfy the following requirements:
Demonstrated at least 3 years of work experience in a similar role within the food industry; or relevant qualification holder such as Diploma of Hospitality with Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery Proven ability to conduct the above tasks in the kitchen Excellent cooking skills and unique recipes in Japanese cuisines Preferable: Permanent resident or Australian citizen This is a role we are keen to fill ASAP, and therefore, we welcome all applications immediately.
