About The ClientSpice In The Valley located in Caversham, WA is a popular traditional Indian restaurant that serves authentic Tandoori dishes as well as a variety of tasty Indian dishes.
They are currently looking for an experienced Chef to join their expanding team.
The RoleYou will have the opportunity to work in a truly dynamic team and display your creativity in the dishes that you create.
You will also have the chance to progress through the ranks at the restaurant.
This is a full-time role with an annual salary set between $73,500 to $80,100 depending on experience plus superannuation.
The ResponsibilitiesCooking food by a range of methods, including preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation.Creating decorative food displays.Ensuring the workstation is always kept clean and hygienic.Estimating amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients.Inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.Monitoring sanitation practices to ensure standards and regulations are met.Ordering or requisitioning food and other supplies needed for efficient operation.Supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in food preparation.Demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to staff and advising on cooking procedures.Preparing food with knowledge of nutritional values of commodities and the effects of cooking on nutritional value.Checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure standards are met.Checking the quantity and quality of received products to be used in food preparation.Proper handling of electrical equipment such as microwave, oven, food processor, refrigerator, and freezer.Maintaining occupational health and safety procedures.Following food handling, personal hygiene, and hygiene control procedures in the hospitality industry.The Requirements:Strong food knowledge and skills in authentic Indian cuisine.Relevant qualifications in cookery or hospitality.Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef in a similar role.Minimum 2 years of experience in tandoori cooking is essential.Minimum 2 years of experience in preparing Indian sauces and Tandoori rub mix from scratch.Must be able to work with proteins like beef, lamb, and seafood.Passion for great food and presentation.Understanding of, and commitment to, food safety.Experience in kitchen operations and managing a team.Experience in training kitchen staff.Ability to work well under pressure.Goods ordering and menu costing.Stock control and wastage minimization.Able to work to a flexible roster including weekends.
