Currently we have a vacant position available in Juniper Guwardi Ngadu in Fitzroy Crossing WA. It is a well-established facility offering 12 newly renovated shared rooms offering residential and memory support care to 24 older First Nations' people.
Your Role: As a Chef with Juniper, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that meet our residents' special dietary requirements. You will supervise a small team of catering staff, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures. Additionally, you will maintain the high standard of meal quality and ensure a safe food service. A successful candidate must embrace and promote culturally appropriate service delivery.
The successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract ranging from 3-6 months or a full-time permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook nourishing meals tailored to residents' dietary requirements. Maintain rigorous standards of food safety and infection control. Ensure meticulous cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Manage stock levels, including ordering and replenishing supplies. Ensuring compliance with Occupational, Safety and Health requirements including appropriate Injury Risk Management. Key Requirements: Certification in commercial cooking or relevant culinary qualifications. Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating culinary skills and leadership. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
