Working as a Chef at Guardian Manifold Heights puts you at the centre of supporting the care and education of young children. Your food will support how they learn about colour, smell, taste, touch, and experience the wonders of food.

You will be creating menus full of delicious and nutritious snacks and meals for children and their Educators, as well as being part of the learning experience when they help you prepare food, forage from the garden and learn about what they're eating. It all comes together at mealtimes where children and Teams share food together, enjoying each other's company and learning how nothing brings people together like great food.

Guardian Childcare & Education Manifold Heights is perfectly situated for families living in surrounding suburbs near Manifold Heights, Herne Hill, Newtown, Highton, Geelong West, and Hamlyn Heights. If you like to travel on the freeway from western suburbs of Melbourne, don't be shy, please do apply as well! Our modern child care and day care centre contains five beautiful, light-filled learning spaces, designed to offer a warm and stimulating learning environment for children aged six weeks to six years.

The Opportunity Develop a seasonal, nutritious menu that respects individual requirements regarding medical conditions, food preferences, and cultural considerations and ensures children's health and wellbeing.Building strong relationships with the children, Educators, families and the Centre community.Ensure best practice food safety and hygienic standards are always upheld. To be considered, you will have: Food Safety Supervisor certificate (must for Cook/Chef roles - they are included under the Food Safety Supervisor course in Health and Community Course: - Unit competencies as below)HLTFSE001 'Follow basic food safety practices.HLTFSE005 'Apply and monitor food safety requirements.HLTFSE007 'Oversee the day-to-day implementation of food safety in the workplace.Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or working towards is desirable.An awareness of your personal responsibilities under the current Child Protection Laws.Current Employee Working with Children's Check (for VIC) or willing to get one.
