ResponsibilitiesThe typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes to maintain high-quality standards.Assist in planning seasonal menus and determining food quantities and costs.Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation and safety protocols.Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.Monitor food quality and presentation to meet customer satisfaction.Collaborate with management to develop innovative dishes and improve recipes.Order and manage kitchen supplies to align with production needs.Ensure proper maintenance of kitchen equipment for safety and efficiency.Develop and modify menu items based on seasonal availability and customer preferences.Control food costs through effective inventory management and tracking.Coordinate with front-of-house staff to enhance the dining experience.Inspect and maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas and equipment.Create training schedules to improve consistency in kitchen operations.Supervise and evaluate staff performance to maintain high kitchen standards.Minimum RequirementsApplicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent formal culinary training.Minimum of 1-2 years' experience as a Chef in a fast-paced, modern Australian fusion restaurant.Demonstrated ability to create innovative menus reflecting seasonal produce and modern dining trends.Proven expertise in preparing diverse cuisines, including contemporary Australian, Italian, Asian-inspired, and American styles.Comprehensive knowledge of cooking techniques, fusion ingredients, and contemporary kitchen equipment.Strong leadership skills, with experience in training and mentoring a multidisciplinary kitchen team.Exceptional time management skills, ensuring consistency and excellence in food presentation under pressure.Ability to develop cost-effective menus while maintaining the highest standards of quality and creativity.Please include Reference: J1179 in the Subject Line and email all applications and CV to ******
