Duties and responsibilities of Chef: Directing and motivating kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and supervision.Monitoring the quality of both raw and prepared ingredients.Preparing dishes as per the menu, using established recipes.Ensuring the kitchen team meets hygiene standards and meals are served promptly to customers.Checking that seasoning, garnishing, and portion sizes align with restaurant standards.Overseeing kitchen operations, coordinating activities, and guiding staff on the correct use of cooking equipment and techniques.Managing food storage to ensure temperature control.Analyzing and estimating food and labor costs.Monitoring the temperatures of cooking appliances like grills and ovens.Developing new seasonal menu options and adjusting existing menu items and pricing to maintain minimal overhead costs.Overseeing food preparation to accommodate special dietary requirements.Managing inventory, ensuring high-quality ingredients, and placing orders for necessary stock.Enforcing professionalism and occupational health and safety compliance among staff.Qualification and experiences Minimum Certificate IV qualification in Commercial Cookery is required.
At least one year's experience in a similar role is required.Enthusiastic and motivated individual.Friendly, positive & approachable attitude.Adherence to OH&S and Food Safety regulations.Availability 7 days a week including days/nights/weekends/split shifts and public holidays.Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per annum plus superannuation
