RARE BAR & GRILL Full-Time Chef Position We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our dynamic team at Rare Bar & Grill!

Rare Bar & Grill, owned by two young, culinary-driven locals since 2022, boasts multiple outlets and is located in the heart of Mackay CBD, just a stone's throw from the beautiful beaches and Whitsundays.
With the support of a structured management system and experienced directors—Head Chef Chad Aldred, and Owners Luke Bauer and Shayna Smith—you'll be part of a supportive environment.
Position Details: Permanent Salary Position: 45 hours per weekSalary: $74,000 - $80,000 per year + superannuationVisa applications welcomedWe are looking for a chef with a solid background and experience in a similar role who can:
Work effectively within a team of chefs and apprenticesCommunicate well and stay organized in the kitchenBring a creative flair and passion for quality and consistencyPay attention to detailThrive in a fast-paced environmentResponsibilities include: Daily kitchen management and service preparationInventory control and food costing managementMaintaining standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and presentationEnsuring compliance with QLD food safety regulationsSupervising preparation, cooking, and platingContributing to menu developmentScheduling staff and assisting with HR processes, including onboarding and training for new kitchen team membersThis full-time position offers flexible working hours, subject to negotiation based on operational needs.
Ideal candidates must possess: Demonstrated knowledge of techniques across all kitchen areasStrong leadership skillsAbility to excel in a high-pressure environmentExcellent knife-handling abilitiesEducation and Experience Requirements: Formal culinary training or culinary degreeMinimum 2 years' experience in à la carte dining restaurantsPrevious kitchen management experienceIf you are interested in this opportunity, please email your resume to Chad Aldred at for more information.
