Job Title: ChefWe are seeking a skilled and experienced chef to join our team at Da Carlo Pty Ltd T/A Molto Italian. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in relevant roles and possess excellent leadership skills, time management abilities, and a passion for food.
Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to design and refine menus that reflect authentic Italian flavours and seasonal ingredients.Take charge of preparing and cooking a variety of Italian dishes, ensuring all meals are prepared to the highest standards.Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and portion standards.Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they understand and adhere to kitchen procedures, cooking techniques, and safety standards.Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness of ingredients.Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen, including scheduling, workflow management, and ensuring efficient use of resources.Requirements:Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery (Preferred but not mandatory).Diploma in Hospitality Management (Preferred but not mandatory).Proven at least 2 years of experience as a Chef in an Italian restaurant or a similar high-volume, high-quality dining environment.In-depth knowledge of Italian cuisine, including pasta making, pizza preparation, and traditional Italian cooking methods.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse kitchen team.Working Conditions:38 hours per week.Full-time position.Located in Element Building, Unit 155/43 Eastlake Parade, Kingston ACT 2604.The salary for this position is $76,000 plus 11.5% superannuation.
