Based at our Tom Fitzgerald Residential Home in Shepparton (VIC) About us Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation.
We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services.
We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania.
We provide tenancy and housing support services to four sites across the Hume region, with 75 social housing units, and an additional 28 under construction.
In addition, our Shepparton-based team assists older people to access homelessness supports, NDIS services and help people live independently at home for longer.

Our Tom Fitzgerald Residential Aged Care home opened early 2023 in Shepparton, and is a 20 bed, low care home for our clients, on Yorta Yorta land.

Your new role We are currently seeking an experienced Chef / Trade Cook to join our Wintringham Shepparton Tom Fitzgerald Residential Aged Care home on a Full Time basis.
This position will run the food service during the week and be responsible for the preparation, cooking, storage, delivery, and service of appetising and nutritious meals.
We are seeking candidate who have experience in the Aged Care industry, a non-judgemental attitude and the ability to liaise with people from different backgrounds.
Your roster will be as follows: Week 1 & 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0900-1706) Your responsibilities and duties will include: The preparation, cooking, delivery, and service of appetising nutritious meals for residents and staff.
Directly supervise and assist in the review of the food safety program to ensure that food is handled in a manner that is safe, appropriate and complies with the relevant legislation.
Ensure all meals produced are of a good visual and nutritional standard in quantities appropriate with the needs of each resident.
Maintain and manage stock levels at the appropriate levels to be sufficient for the provision of the meals service.

What we will need from you: Food handling certificate Level II Possess a certificate of a recognised course in cookery or catering Relevant experience in catering or aged care catering Ability to respond flexibly to changes in the environment Experience in a supervisory role Experience in food safety program planning, operation, & review Experience in menu planning for residential care target group Excellent communication skills and operate as a team player This sounds great!
