We are currently looking for a Chef to join our team.
Candidates applying for roles with us should be prepared for flexible scheduling, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays, to accommodate the demands of our business.
This full-time position entails approximately 38 hours of work per week.
The primary responsibility of a Chef revolves around their designated cooking station.
They coordinate the activities of other kitchen staff to ensure consistent, reliable, and high-quality food is delivered to our loyal customers.
Furthermore, Chefs engage in tasks such as delegation, training, menu item creation, stock management, problem-solving, and collaboration with other teams, highlighting the multifaceted nature of their role.
Ultimately, a Chef at Centre Point Cafe is expected to train and mentor other kitchen team members in accordance with our organizational culture, fostering their growth and development.
Duties and responsibilities include : Take control of the breakfast service and ensure guests receive a truly delicious and memorable breakfast.
Cooking and managing breakfast service and assisting with lunch service.
Setting up and cleaning down the kitchen Ensure the kitchen is always kept clean and hygienic.
Ensure all the stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
Ensure all mise-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time.
Ensure that department is operated within the appropriate legislation and the appropriate records are maintained up to date.
Ensure any anticipated issues are communicated promptly to the head chef.
Ensure all staff under your control are treated fairly and with courtesy.
Ensure and control levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating, and food costs on an ongoing basis.
Collect feedback from the guests during the breakfast session and report to the head chef on any complaints or issues.
Qualification and Experience Requirements : AQF associate degree or Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent At least 1 years of previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced cafe or restaurant environment.
Creativity and passion for food, with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
Ability to work well under pressure and collaborate effectively with team members.
Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
