Mrs. Wang: Join our team at Mrs. Wang, a modern Chinese restaurant that seats 150 guests. Located in the heart of the newly developed 'Tiger Lane' food precinct within the iconic Canberra Centre, Mrs. Wang offers Cantonese-inspired cuisine. Inari: We are looking for commis, sous chefs, and cooks to be part of our team at Inari, a Japanese cuisine restaurant. Supalove: Join us at Supalove, our exciting new South East Asian venue. We are currently seeking chefs and cooks to be a part of our culinary team. SALARY AND WORK SCHEDULE DETAILS - Salary: Above 75,000 AUD per year - Job Type: Full-time - Shift and Schedule: Weekend availability, Rotating roster (Monday to Friday) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Responsibilities: - Prepare and plate high-quality hot and cold dishes for customers. - Ensure clean and safe work practices in compliance with policies and regulations. - Report to the Head Chef. Accountabilities: - Lead by example, upholding standards and procedures. - Oversee meal preparation to meet required standards. - Focus on exceptional service and exceeding customer expectations. - Comply with Accreditation standards related to hospitality services. - Foster teamwork through role modeling and effective communication. - Assist in setting team objectives and resource management. - Implement continuous improvement in OH&S for a safe work environment. - Manage stock control and rotation to minimize wastage. - Oversee stock-takes and equipment maintenance. - Perform kitchen cleaning duties. - Promote teamwork. - Order food stock within budget. - Check food supply deliveries. - Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with policies. - Manage rubbish removal and environmental concerns. - Oversee kitchen setup, cleanup, and additional tasks. - Follow directions and perform manual tasks as needed. Personal Competencies: - Role model for Kitchen Staff. - Make quick decisions under pressure. - Flexible with working hours. - Maintain professional and friendly communication. - Reliable and trustworthy. - Team player. - Prompt action. - Commitment to ethical work practices. - Excellent hygiene and personal presentation. - Promote fair workplace practices. - Relevant English language skills. - Capable of manual handling tasks. Knowledge and Experience: - Previous supervisory experience in Chinese or South Asian themed restaurants. Understanding of special diets and dietary requirements. Qualifications: - Mandatory training (OH&S and Fire Safety) - Formal trade qualifications in Commercial Cookery or pursuing them
