Duties and responsibilities of Chef: Preparing dishes according to the menu and established recipes.
Ensuring that the meals are prepared as per hygiene standards and served to the customers on time.
Monitoring the quality of raw and cooked food.
Analyzing and approximating the price of food and human resources.
Oversee kitchen operations and coordinate kitchen activities.
Controlling the temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking appliances.
Overseeing food preparation to accommodate customers' special dietary needs.
Checking whether the seasoning and garnishing of food are done appropriately as well as ensuring that the right portion of food is served to the customers as per restaurant standards.
Ensuring that the food is stored in temperature-controlled facilities.
To develop new seasonal menus and make appropriate changes in the existing menu such as changes in prices of food items maintaining minimum overhead costs.
Managing stock inventory and ordering raw materials of high quality.
Monitor that professionalism is maintained and staff always adhere to occupational health and safety measures.
Instructing kitchen staff on the correct use of cooking equipment and demonstrating various cooking styles and techniques.
Recruiting, training, supervising, and motivating kitchen staff.
Qualification and experiences Minimum Certificate IV qualification in Commercial Cookery is required.
At least one year's experience in a similar role is required.
Enthusiastic and motivated individual.
Friendly, positive & approachable attitude.
Adherence to OH&S and Food Safety regulations.
Availability 7 days a week including days/nights/weekends/split shifts and public holidays.
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per annum plus superannuation
