About Us: Ballarat Events & Convention Centre offers a picturesque setting and exceptional service for events of all kinds, from intimate gatherings to large-scale conventions of up to 600 guests.
With seven versatile function spaces and a commitment to quality, we pride ourselves on delivering stunning culinary experiences that elevate every event.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and serve high-quality dishes, with an emphasis on consistency, flavor, and presentation for a range of events.
Participate in menu planning to create innovative, event-appropriate dishes that highlight seasonal ingredients.
Manage kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and timely service during events.
Monitor inventory levels, manage orders, and control kitchen supplies to maintain smooth operations.
Uphold food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Work closely with the team to create a seamless, exceptional dining experience for guests.
Mentor junior staff and support skill development within the team.
What We're Looking For: At least 2 years of experience as a Chef, ideally in an event-based or high-volume kitchen.
A Certificate or Diploma in Commercial Cookery or similar culinary qualifications.
Strong culinary skills with a focus on quality ingredients, creative plating, and memorable flavors.
Excellent time management and organizational skills to succeed in a dynamic event setting.
Knowledge of inventory management and cost control to optimize kitchen operations.
Strong leadership and communication skills to inspire and support the kitchen team.
Keen attention to detail, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
