This role is based at Healesville Sanctuary in the heart of the Yarra Valley.
Reporting to the Head Chef this role is a hands-on role in a fast paced kitchen with a dual focus on banquet preparation and short order cooking.
It will provide support to kitchen management duties and prepare various food styles for a modern café menu with seasonal updates and featured specials, to a daily buffet and also short order cooking for family friendly, fast food offerings.
The ideal candidate will have the following: Completion of a trade apprenticeship in Cookery Relevant certifications from professional organisations such as the William Angliss Institute is highly valued Experience as a chef in a busy hotel or club kitchen, large café/bistro, tourism facility, hotel food service outlet or similar.
Excellent culinary skills, including knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavour profiles.
Ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
