Job Description: Tandoor & Tadka Indian Restaurant is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team in Truganina, VIC, Australia.
This is a permanent full-time position.
As a Chef at Tandoor & Tadka Indian Restaurant, you will be responsible for creating and preparing delicious and authentic Indian dishes.
Your main duties will include: - Developing and planning menus in collaboration with the restaurant owner - Preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes, including tandoori, curries, and biryanis - Ensuring high-quality and consistent food presentation and taste - Managing inventory and ordering supplies - Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen - Training and supervising kitchen staff - Adhering to food safety and sanitation standards - Collaborating with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant - Continuously experimenting and innovating with new recipes and dishes - Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and incorporating them into the menu - Assisting with special events and catering orders as needed.
Requirements: - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Chef specialising in Indian cuisine - Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery equivalent qualification - Knowledge of Indian regional cuisine and cooking techniques The ideal candidate for this role will have a experience as a Chef in a fast-paced restaurant environment, with a strong knowledge of Indian cuisine. You should also possess excellent communication and leadership skills, and be able to work well under pressure.
