Full Job DescriptionBe part of a socially innovative enterprise that celebrates native flavors through modern cooking techniques.Overview Position:We are a well-known busy fine dining, A la carte restaurant in Perth. You will be reporting to the director to ensure the smooth running and professionally managed commercial performance of the kitchen as well as the brand.Job Profile:Plans menus and estimates food and labor costs.Ensures menu items are made per authentic Indian recipes.Discusses with the Director, Restaurant Manager, and all staff regarding Events and Functions to keep the kitchen prepared.Organizes, prepares, and cooks food.Prepares different specialty items including Indian Chinese dishes, Indian dishes, and tandoori bread.Prepares Dosa Batter, Sambar, and chutneys daily and checks the quality of all base sauces.Selects, prepares, and cooks for different menu items.Produces Indian-style snacks such as samosas, chaat, and puris.Prepares sauces, accompaniments, and soups.Prepares and produces Indian desserts.Presents and portions food on plates and adds sauces and garnishes.Freezes and preserves foods.Selects and trains staff, demonstrating required cooking techniques and mentoring them on cooking procedures.Enforces workplace hygiene procedures and regulations.Follows workplace health and safety procedures, including applying first aid if necessary.Follows daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules for all equipment in the kitchen.Maintains kitchen stock inventory and orders all food supplies as per order schedule.Adheres to all System Operating Procedures (SOP).Prepares and cooks food according to customers' orders. Please note that we are a fine dining restaurant, and each item on the menu is made after the order is received. We do not have a bain-marie in the kitchen; each item is from the A la Carte menu.Introduces new menu items on a regular basis, including weekly specials, combo planning, vegan and gluten-free menus, and planning new drinks (non-alcoholic) menu.If this role sounds like the type of job you are seeking, please click the apply button and send your updated resume.
