The team is committed to excellence by serving fresh, authentic Indian food at reasonable prices. We are looking for a professional CHEF/ COOK to join our fast-paced Kitchen. A challenging role where you will be required to be hands-on, calm under pressure, and always leading from the front.
The ideal candidate will be expected to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
Chef Responsibilities Ensure smooth running of the kitchen by coordinating activities with other staff. Ensure that cooking, meal preparation and presentation (including special dietary requirements) meet client needs and are performed in accordance with quality assurance standards for accreditation and hygiene and cleanliness standards. Lead the culinary team in developing and executing a diverse and enticing menu that enhances the customers dining experience. Infuse creativity and flair into traditional dishes, showcasing your culinary expertise and keeping our menu fresh and exciting. Manage and inspire a talented kitchen brigade, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency. Implement rigorous quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, taste and check freshness of food. Conduct regular menu tastings and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and refinement, experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients. Work closely with the management team to control food costs, optimize kitchen efficiency, and contribute to the overall profitability of the establishment while monitoring food stock and placing orders. Source high-quality ingredients while maintaining cost-effective practices. Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff to enhance their skills and create a cohesive and skilled team. Stay updated on industry trends and share knowledge with the team. Cook Responsibilities
Preparing and assembling ingredients for menu items. Preparing high-quality meals and food items according to company recipes. Storing excess food at the correct temperature in order to avoid spoilage. Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meet company standards. Monitoring supplies and re-ordering stock as needed. Ensuring that cooking utensils are clean before each use. Cleaning and sterilizing food preparation areas. Assisting other cooks to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner. Efficiently resolving problems with customers' orders. Ensuring that food health and safety regulations are followed. Any other tasks, within the scope of skills, as directed by the Chef Manager. Chef Requirements and skills
Past experience as a working chef. Advanced knowledge of the culinary arts. Perfectionism in sanitation and quality control. Portfolio of creative, unique dishes. Expert multitasking ability. Great leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to run stocktaking and place orders for resupply. Exemplary work ethic in a high-pressure environment. Passion and pride for delighting people with food. Cook Requirements and skills
Sound knowledge of cooking methods and techniques. The ability to follow recipes. The ability to work in a team. The ability to stand for extended periods of time. Effective communication skills. Qualifications:
Certificate III, IV in Commercial Cookery with a Diploma in Hospitality Management (or equivalent). Note- sponsorship 482 visa available for the right candidate.
