Chef/Cook

We are seeking a Chef or Cook to join our team.
You will work under and alongside our Head Chef in a full-time position, where you will work two days a week solo in the kitchen (with a kitchen hand during the dinner shift) and three days a week with our Head Chef. This is a great time to join the team as we head into our busy season with events and Christmas parties. We offer a unique opportunity in the hospitality industry to have Christmas and New Year off, as we close from Christmas Eve and re-open on 2nd January.
Responsibilities: Work independently and as part of a team. Operate the grill and the pass. Uphold required food safety standards in a commercial kitchen. Requirements: Must have kitchen experience. Ability to work 38-40 hours per week, paid by the hour. Immediate start available. Minimum 12-week stay; long-term position available if you would like to stay on.
Accommodation can be provided on-site for a small rental fee taken from your wage (we have a house behind the hotel with three bedrooms, a lounge, bathroom, and kitchen; sharing with other staff may be necessary depending on staffing at the time). Meals are charged at a flat rate while you are on shift, and you will receive a staff discount on all meals (purchased when not on shift), drinks, and takeaway alcohol.
It is best to have your own transport as the closest town with a grocery store is 42km away; however, there is a bus service on weekdays, and other staff go into town regularly.
