We are seeking a motivated chef or cook to join our culinary team of hard working and enthusiastic chefs at The River Deck.
An opportunity to further your career or have a change of scenery in one of Albury's most iconic locations.

We're open to a range of experience levels including an apprentice.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, enjoy a fast paced working environment, communicate effectively and have skills to create delicious, high-quality dishes.

We are open for breakfast and lunch 7 days with evening functions.
We mix old and new techniques and change the menu on a seasonal basis.

We invest in our equipment and people and are looking to expand our offerings, so there are plenty of opportunities to develop your skills.
Our kitchen consists of very passionate and experienced chefs, ready to learn from and work together with.

We have a great work-life balance and are considerate to the personal lives of our staff.

Responsibilities: To be self-motivated and take initiative Contribute to menu ideas, use prior skills learned and advance own learning Food production in accordance with production requirements, ensuring correct methods of cooking, consistency in product and quality to achieve a high level of guest satisfaction.
Deliver functions, weddings, and special events Immediately rectify any activity that poses a threat to the health and safety of any person, and report such activity to the Head Chef and Owner.
Communicate with Kitchen Stewards to ensure all par levels of equipment are met for the duration of service.
Process food requisitions in accordance with par stock levels.
Handle all food and beverage items and maintain all food storage, preparation and service areas in accordance with Australian Food Safety Standards (including the receipt, preparation, handling, storage, and disposal of food items).
Assist in all areas of Food Safe Compliance and support the Kitchen with 'due diligence', including the recording of temperatures and cleaning checklists.
Experience/Qualifications: Experience as a chef or cook Understanding of food safety and sanitation requirements Effective communication skills and an ability to work well in a team environment Formal qualification in Cookery or equivalent industry certificate or working towards Personal: Excellent personal presentation Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Friendly and enthusiastic attitude Openness to learn from others and share your own knowledge Weekend and holiday work is required; however, we do offer flexibility.
