About the role ... . We are looking for an experienced and qualified Chef for our kitchen at ourstate-of-the-art facility in Birkdale.
A key function of the role is to assist the Chef Team Leader in maintainingan agreed standard of catering and food preparation ensuring high qualityand variety of food, with optimal use of resources.
The person we are looking for will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in cultural cooking, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
They will also be able to work independently and in a team environment, exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate information in a timely fashion.
Some of the responsibilities of the role include:
Preparing meals in accordance to our elder's dietary requirementsPresenting high quality dishes Maintaining a customer focused approach to service Adhering to e{ective and e{icient operations Maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness Adhering to policies and procedures to maintain a safe hazard freeworkplace About you ... You will excel in your ability to manage time.
You will be self-motivatedwith a flexible, caring, patient attitude.
Your preparedness to work to the10 principles of the Eden Alternative philosophy, advantageous.
Qualifications Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery Skills Proven track record working in accordance with various state basedhealth regulations and the Food Safety Act.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency at catering for 200 pluspeople.
An ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner within an ethnospecific environment The ability to understand and cook cultural cuisineKnowledge of and experience with Cook Chill Services Demonstrated knowledge of dietary requirements for the elderly An ability to work well in a team environment, with goodcommunication skills A flexible, caring and patient attitude A police check with no disclosable outcome, current flu vaccination and a COVID-19 vaccination is required by MiCare for this position.
