The Role
We are seeking a chef who can efficiently manage the kitchen and food preparation team members. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work well under pressure, have knowledge of different varieties of foods and ingredients, and be able to communicate effectively with guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare customer orders according to requirements
* Maintain high food safety standards and ensure all kitchen staff members adhere to these protocols
* Employ appropriate caution in a high-pressure kitchen environment
* Select high-quality ingredients to achieve the best flavor and presentation
* Develop menus based on seasonal changes and customer preferences
* Determine food quantities and manage stock levels to minimize waste
* Stay up-to-date on recent trends in cooking and the restaurant industry to ensure a unique and positive guest experience
* Work efficiently during busy periods, such as weekends and large functions
* Occasionally take on extra duties, such as cleaning, when the kitchen is short-staffed or the restaurant is busy
Requirements
* Relevant qualifications or 3 years of experience as a chef in a similar restaurant
* At least 3 years of experience as a chef in a similar restaurant
* Ability to manage kitchen staff and train new team members
* Experience in upholding health and safety requirements in the kitchen
* Familiarity with the current situation in the restaurant industry to ensure the business is working in accordance with market demands
Benefits
$70,000-$75,000 salary
