In our state-of-the-art aged care facility located in the heart of St Kilda, Sacred Heart Community supports people by providing a welcoming home for life - ensuring comfort and security. Part of Sacred Heart Community's services is the provision of healthy, high-quality meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning and afternoon tea) to up to 97 residents every day.
We currently have a fantastic opening for both a part-time or full-time Chef where you will play a key role preparing and delivering these meals as well as creating a warm, enjoyable dining experience for our residents.
Responsibilities:Preparing and cooking high-quality, nourishing meals for our residents.Ensuring residents' individual dietary needs are met.Ensuring all areas of the kitchen are cleaned to the highest standards.Providing stock control management, replenishing and ordering stock as required.Providing supervision and direction to Kitchen & Laundry Assistants.We're looking for someone with:Certificate III qualification or above in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety Certificate (Essential).NDIS Workers Clearance Check (Essential).Experience in a commercial kitchen environment (aged care preferred).Demonstrated ability to lead and work strongly within a team.Demonstrated experience and knowledge of diverse and modified dietary requirements.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Most importantly, you will need to be a clear communicator who can maintain a calm and upbeat manner throughout a busy workday. You will be someone residents can chat with and feel comfortable around.
