As an Engineering Manager - Chapter Lead, you will be leading engineers that report to you, instilling a growth mindset and innovative ways of working. You will play an important role in steering the organisation by providing expert advice related to technology, solution design and architecture, people leadership and hiring. Along with leading, you will be contributing to building the platform.
You will be instrumental in helping all CBA Business Units to adopt and deliver applications at scale by leveraging standard hosting patterns. In doing so, you will be helping the application teams with troubleshooting their application deployments from their code, the web servers and the cloud deployments. Your expertise in .NET and Systems engineering will be a crucial element for you to be successful in this role.
We're interested in hearing from people who Have demonstrated experience in leading high-performing cross-functional engineering teams with a solid technical background in .Net. Drive a true DevSecOps mindset, where engineering owns what they build and truly value customer feedback. Lead, mentor, and guide a team of .Net and Cloud engineers in designing, developing, testing, and deploying enterprise applications. Advocate for software engineering best practices (e.g., CI/CD, TDD/BDD, code reviews) and ensure the team follows them. Provide technical direction on solution design, code quality, and system performance. Drive the development of robust, high-performance, scalable applications using modern technologies. Design and implement complex software systems, ensuring security, scalability, and maintainability. Able to work hands-on building applications and pipelines. Manage resources, set priorities, and drive the team toward achieving project milestones. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging open communication and feedback. Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business language. Tech skills We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team:
Demonstrate strong hands-on experience developing applications using MS technologies - C# and .NET / .NetCore. Sound knowledge of Microservices architecture and RESTful APIs. Experience designing solutions and leading technical conversations with the engineers. Excellent debugging skills with ability to solve complex technical issues in .NET. Experience operating and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Infrastructure as code and automating manual tasks. Mentoring and coaching capabilities, able to influence practices and mindsets in the crew. Develop, lead, and deploy CI/CD strategies. CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, TeamCity, Artifactory, Octopus Deploy. Logging & monitoring: CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus knowledge are desirable. Automating repetitive tasks using Python, shell scripting, PowerShell etc. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems across the CI/CD toolchain. An obsession of solving customer problems, you love actively seeking out customers to understand their problems. A curious mindset that drives you to ask and answer the 'why'. Apply today!
