Chapman Executive | Chief Executive Officer

Details of the offer

The Mental Health Council of Tasmania (MHCT) is the peak body representing the mental health and wellbeing needs of all Tasmanians, and the community organisations that work with and support them. MHCT works closely with the government to amplify the voices of its members and Tasmanian communities, to provide input into public policies and programs. MHCT advocates for reform and improvement within the Tasmanian mental health system.

The Chief Executive Officer role presents an exciting opportunity to lead a statewide organisation and make a meaningful impact within a purpose-driven organisation. Based in Hobart and working closely with the Board, the CEO will provide strategic leadership to MHCT's members and stakeholders and visionary leadership and direction to the organisation's highly valued staff. The role will represent members in influencing the policy direction of the Tasmanian mental health services and secure the provision of high-quality and timely services across Tasmania. Continuing to develop, manage and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including Government, other funders and service providers will be a key emphasis of the role.

The successful applicant will demonstrate proven success at a senior leadership level, together with contemporary leadership and people management skills and tertiary qualifications in a related field. A background in stakeholder engagement and the ability to continue to build the profile and public awareness of MHCT through relationships, advocacy, representation and internal capability is also required. With a focus on leadership and engagement for a '2024 Employer of Choice', this influential role will contribute to ensuring MHCT achieves its vision of ensuring that every Tasmanian has access to the resources and support needed for good mental health and wellbeing.
