About This OpportunityWe are currently seeking the expertise of a passionate and motivated Change Manager to take ownership of Change Strategy and Change Services in our IT Governance team within Information Technology Services here at UQ!
UQ is on an exciting technology journey which includes change process maturity uplift and requires a permanent Change Manager to focus on Change Strategy and Services to maintain governance of organisational change management across the IT function and promote effective engagement between ITS and its stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include: Change Management Leadership and Governance: Lead and govern change management activities for virtual environment projects, enhance organisational change maturity through practical measures aligned with UQ's frameworks, and develop assurance, reporting, and success metrics. Support IT teams with coaching, governance material, and frameworks to improve change capability and ensure sustainability, benefit realisation, and effective handover to business-as-usual.
Strategic Change Management: Oversee change initiatives related to the Technology Master Plan, working collaboratively with IT and University stakeholders to embed the plan and governing frameworks for investment planning, prioritisation, and decision-making in the virtual environment.
IT Project Change Management: Collaborate with project leads and stakeholders to evaluate change impacts, recommend strategies, and determine resource needs. For projects without dedicated change resources, apply structured change management methodologies, including impact assessments, strategy development, resistance management, user readiness evaluation, and integration of change activities into project plans, while creating and maintaining communication frameworks and collateral.
Stakeholder Engagement and Change Communications: Develop and maintain engagement plans to ensure effective communication with stakeholders, including senior leaders and those impacted by virtual environment changes. Create reusable marketing and communication materials while managing key stakeholder relationships to support change initiatives.

About YouQualifications: Postgraduate qualifications (or significant progress) in organisational change, project management, communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Change Management Expertise: Extensive knowledge and experience in designing and delivering best practice IT change within large, complex organisations, including addressing people and process issues.
Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to consult, partner with, and coach senior leaders and stakeholders to achieve successful change outcomes.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including expertise in crafting and disseminating change communications to diverse audiences.
Motivation and Leadership: Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire others, generating enthusiasm for new ideas and approaches.
Technical Awareness: Broad IT knowledge to liaise effectively with technical stakeholders and assess change impacts, alongside proficiency in collaboration tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, O365, Teams, Confluence).
Time Management: Strong ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and maintain a self-motivated, outcomes-focused approach.
Desirable Experience: Includes delivering change awareness training, working in a Portfolio Management Office, higher education sector experience, and Prosci certification.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check etc.
