What is the role? Applications are sought for a Band 6 Change and Communications Officer within the AFP's Business Services branch.
As a Team Member in the AFP, you will contribute to achieving outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do? The Change and Communications Team sits within the Business Services Strategy and Compliance Team. It provides change management and communications services to support a diverse range of initiatives across the Business Services branch to enhance communications and service delivery.
Working closely with the Team Leader, you will manage change initiatives from within the Business Services branch. You will work with key business areas to develop and execute change management and communications strategies to ensure smooth transitions during periods of change.
The key responsibilities are:
Develop and implement change management strategies to support project goals and organisational outcomes.
Create and execute communications plans to ensure consistent and clear messaging across all channels.
Create, curate and distribute content across various internal channels (e.g. intranet, email, posters, presentations, newsletters) within AFP brand guidelines.
Develop training support materials to help employees adapt to new processes, systems and structures.
Engage with internal AFP teams, including Strategic Communications, Design Services and Digital Engagement to deliver communications outputs in line with AFP processes and standards.
Organise and facilitate meetings, workshops and focus groups to gather input and feedback from stakeholders.
Please note this role is based in Canberra, ACT.
You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Demonstrated experience delivering communications within an ADKAR change management framework.
Demonstrated experience developing and distributing communications products across various internal channels.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Experience using graphic design programs (such as Adobe Illustrator and InDesign) to create visual communications products in line with organisational brand guidelines.
Experience developing learning or training materials.
Bachelor's degree in communications or change management.
