We are seeking an Inventory Assistant for a 6-month fixed term maternity leave cover contract with the possibility for extension .
Duties and Responsibilities The Inventory Assistant duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Comply with and maintain an understanding of the Textron manuals suite and the procedures contained within it; Ensure the policies, procedures and instructions published by the Company are adhered to; Hold safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a zero harm and incident/injury free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position; Report all safety related matters in accordance with the Safety Management System (SMS) and make appropriate recommendations to improve safety, productivity and efficiency; Daily perusal of the Job Board to prepare for upcoming scheduled jobs; Monitor incoming emails for the company bases part/s requirement/s; Liaise with the Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer and/or Job Co-ordinator as necessary for parts with a quoted high dollar value, or excessive lead time; Provide feedback to the Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer and/or Job Co-ordinator on part/component ETA; Source, order and purchase parts for all Company bases in a timely manner to ensure on-time deliveries; Review inventory in store and determine if the part is "in stock" or must be ordered; Obtain part prices and availability from approved vendor/s; Generate and provide Purchase Order/s to vendor/s; Ensure all parts are efficiently and accurately processed; Upon receipt of goods, ensure that the correct part has been supplied, part is in good order and with appropriate documentation; When an item has passed the conformity inspection, allocate a batch number and issue to the relevant job and task and notify the Chief Engineer; Co-ordinate timely dispatch and return of warranty items and exchange cores from all bases direct to the supplier; Monitor delivery times to the specified location and communicate as required; Check Work-Packs to ensure all parts requested and stock items used on each job have been recorded on the Material Usage Sheet and have been issued to the correct Job and task; Maintain the assigned stores areas, Stores office and desks in a neat and organised manner at all times; and Obey all lawful instructions given by the Inventory Manager. Essential Qualifications Delivery focused with a high attention to detail; Excellent time management skills, proven ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, to deliver within tight and competing deadlines; Have a background in office administration, preferably within stock controls and logistics; Have experience in the aviation industry, preferred; and Have strong verbal and communication skills.
