Construction Roadway Lightning Supervisor CES Consulting, LLC, (CES) is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) firm, established in 2010. CES is a VDOT pre-qualified contractor specializing in the construction of interstate and roadway lighting, overhead and ground mounted signs, traffic signals, electrical work, ITS, and roadway construction. CES also provides professional services for Project Inspection, Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), Utility Management, Project Controls, and Design Services.
We are seeking to hire a Roadway / Highway Lighting Supervisor to support our clients in the Northern Virginia, Fredericksburg, Culpeper, Charlottesville, Hampton Roads, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Richmond, and Lynchburg areas.
Responsibilities: Ensure the assigned project/task is completed on schedule and in accordance with the plans and set specifications. Train, develop, and monitor the safety practices (including PPE) of all field employees through regularly scheduled safety meetings, one on one development, reminders and disciplinary action (if necessary). Ensure compliance of production staff with all company policies and procedures, OSHA, EPA, and DOT guidelines. Replace panel boxes, breakers, ballasts, and bulbs. Perform preventative maintenance on roadway lights. Remove and repair damaged poles and lights. Troubleshoot and repair faults in roadway lighting circuits. Install new roadway lights, conduits, bases, and wiring. Inspect jobsites and work for compliance with the National Electric Code. Participate and respond to 24 hour on-call services, if required. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and ensure all employees reporting to the Supervisor / Foreman do the same. Read and follow plans, shop drawings, material lists, guidelines and apply necessary timelines to meet project completion schedules. Submit crewmember's timesheets to CES payroll department daily. Record and submit production reports for all work performed and quantities installed daily. Fulfill all regular and advanced installation/construction duties including project layout and complete required paperwork in a timely manner daily. Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge, experience, and skill. Attend meetings as required. Perform equipment inspections and request service and maintenance if necessary. Maintain good relations with the public, engineers, architects, inspectors and customers to facilitate job progress and promote a positive company image. Transport materials, tools and equipment to/from installation sites. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be reliable. Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience required. Ability to read and understand construction plans, drawings, specifications, and contracts preferred. Experience in highway construction preferred. Certifications: OSHA 10 hour preferred. VDOT Intermediate Work Zone Safety Traffic Control Certification preferred. Current Driver's License required. CDL License preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Able to read, comprehend, and understand simple instructions and correspondence. Able to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to apply common sense understanding in order to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with problems/issues. Basic computer skills. Team Oriented and Safety Oriented. Physical Demands:
Extensive physical activity performing strenuous daily activities. Able to lift up to 70 pounds. Able to work outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions. Working Conditions:
Work outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions in all seasons. Noise level in the work environment is loud.
