The Electric Vehicle Council (EVC) is the national peak body for the electric vehicle sector, with over 100 members including OEMs, charging operators, energy providers, financial institutions, and startups.
With a mission to accelerate the uptake of electric vehicles in Australia, they are seeking their next CEO to lead the organisation and the sector into a new phase of growth. The new CEO will play a critical role in continuing the EVC's strong track record of successful advocacy, leading a high performing team and developing strategies that promote and support the electric vehicles industry in Australia.

The successful candidate will be a passionate champion of a more sustainable Australia through decarbonisation. You will be politically savvy and a fierce advocate for their cause. You will be a creative thinker who can strategically devise campaigns leveraging media, political advocacy and stakeholder engagement to secure favourable policy settings and advance the position of the industry.
You will have:
Demonstrated experience leading an industry, senior leadership team or other senior cohorts through complex issues, programs and projects
Proven experience in successful political advocacy and campaigning
Significant experience shaping and guiding narrative to political effect
Excellent networks among Federal and State MPs, staff, bureaucrats, and industry influencers
Proven stakeholder engagement at senior executive level with a broad range of stakeholders within the corporate, business, political, regulatory, community, academic and media sectors
Excellent communications skills and polished presentation skills
Demonstrated experience building and leading a modern organisation that is committed to best practice with effective, diverse and inclusive teams
Experience in a commercial or senior executive role or demonstrated understanding of commercial drivers of the business including budget management experience, governance, and risk controls.
You will be a self-starter of high integrity who can simultaneously lead and collaborate with key internal stakeholders including the team, the Board and Members. You will have an entrepreneurial outlook with an eye for opportunities that drive the organisation forward.
