About Centrecare Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation committed to delivering quality professional counselling, support, accommodation, family violence support, mediation, justice programs and out of home care services.
The Role Provide an outreach, assessment, counselling and referral service for clients and their families in accordance with the Financial Counselling program requirements and agency policies.
A Few Specifics Provide casework support to clients who require assistance with financial management. This will include; assessing the client's overall financial situation; providing information and all possible options to address the client's specific problem/s and the implications of these for his/her financial situation; Advocating and negotiating on the client's behalf with credit providers as required. Be able to respond appropriately to a client in crisis. Identify financial difficulties and recognise and understand social issues and their link with financial problems. Evaluate the financial situation and identify possible options. Communicate financial options to clients in a non-judgemental manner. Accommodation support of $300 per week for 12 weeks Comprehensive professional development and training. Four weeks annual leave inclusive of a 17.5% leave loading Five days additional paid leave Twelve weeks paid Maternity Leave Access to corporate health cover provided for by Bupa and Medibank Study leave of five hours per week after two years of service Insurance cover to and from work Clinical and Management Supervision Employee Assistance Program In possession of recognised qualifications in financial counselling, Diploma in Community Services (Financial Counselling) or other relevant or equivalent post-secondary qualifications. Membership with the relevant regulatory body (E.g. Financial Counselling Australia etc.). National Police Clearance Minimum of two years relevant experience providing financial counselling. Demonstrated experience and understanding of financial counselling services and challenges of remote and rural communities. Capacity to work from different Centrecare locations.
