About the Role The Sports and Community Venues Branch is responsible for the delivery and development of a diverse range of quality community facilities, optimising service outcomes and contributing to the social cohesion, economic viability and health and wellbeing of our community.
The Centre Support Assistant is responsible for assisting and supporting the Coordinator and other staff in the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the centre and ensuring a high standard of customer service to clientele.
The successful candidate in this role will also actively encourage and support community use of Council's Sports and Leisure facilities.
Primarily, you will: Support and assist Centre users and event promoters as required and attend to all public entering and/or enquiring at the Centre in a professional, friendly, helpful manner. Ensure smooth flow of customer entry in facility, accurate statistics and income are recorded and provide excellent first impressions to clientele. Provision of counter duties, including but not limited to reception and the Stadium Kiosk, including the operation of point-of-sale systems. Assist in the coordination of events and activities within the Centre as directed, including set up, pack up and distribution of sports or event equipment. About you The successful candidate will be able to work flexible hours (including weekend work) and have demonstrated experience working within a sporting venue or similar relevant experience.
You will have a strong customer service focus and have a positive approach to situations that may arise.
As a requirement of this role, you will possess a Current Senior First Aid and CPR Certificate as well as a current Suitability Card issued by the Commissioner for Children and Young People and Child Guardian (Blue Card).
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending.
As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
