Silky Oaks has an exciting opportunity for a Director to join our Early Learning Centre in Manly West. As a passionate and driven Director, you must possess strong leadership and mentoring skills to lead and support a fantastic team of educators and maintain a strong workplace culture.
Silky Oaks Early Learning Centre is a community-based long day care centre providing for children from birth to five years, and offers a responsive learning environment, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. Our service provides a community environment that recognises and respects the individuality, ability, and potential of each child. Our children are offered individualised educational programs in a flexible, play-based natural environment where they can be themselves and learn about the world around them, and our Kindergarten has a qualified Early Childhood Teacher.
Fixed Term Full time to mid February 2025, with the possibility of permanency for the right candidate. As the Director, you will: Manage the day-to-day operations in accordance with legislative requirements and Organisation's policies.Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to our educators.Ensure the delivery of high-quality early learning programs by our passionate educators.Motivate and lead a team of educators to create a positive and fun working environment.Have a positive outlook and be experienced in all management areas.Actively participate in attracting, converting, and retaining families through effective management of tours, enrolments, and orientations.Effectively handle and manage the centre's rosters and financial requirements in line with budget guidelines.Establish and nurture strong relationships with children, families, educators, and all stakeholders.Full availability Monday to Friday.The successful applicant will have: Diploma or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education approved by ACECQA.Long-term experience in a management or leadership role in an early childhood setting.High standard of pedagogical knowledge and professional practice.Good leadership and mentoring skills to direct and train workers.Effective skills in communication, time management, and prioritisation.Current Blue Card.First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications.Child protection training.Queensland Teachers Registration (desirable).Flexible with routines and able to support rooms requiring assistance.Be a quick learner, think on their feet, work well under pressure, and accept responsibility.A friendly, approachable, and positive demeanor.What we offer: A negotiable hourly rate, either under the Children's Services Award 2010, or Educational Services (Teachers) Award, considering proven experience within the sector.Candidates with Bachelor qualifications receive Directors Allowance ($9981 per annum).As a registered charity, holding a PBI status, Silky Oaks offers permanent workers an impressive tax saving.Free onsite parking.Access to a complementary Employee Assistance Program.Professional development for sector-specific skill opportunities.Please note: Only applicants who have full permanent working rights in Australia should apply.
